RR Submission Frequently Asked Questions

 1. What do I need for Round Robin (RR) submission?

a. Initial RR (Full Package):

I. Complete Exhibit 8 Form

II. Supplier's lab report along with supplier's mount

III. As-sprayed sample

IV. Documentation supporting any deviation(s)

V. Deviation(s) from applicable specification(s) must be legible and highlighted

VI. Samples for applicable capability test, such as hardness, erosion, etc.

VII. Supplier's report of all capability test

VIII. Purchase order

Limit 5 coatings per PO

Additional coatings will not be listed if not listed on the PO with the polishing procedure.

IX. Quotation

RFQ form must be completed in full. Missing information will delay processing.

Drawing(s) must be submitted with RFQ. 

b. Requalification RR (Partial Package):

I. Completed Exhibit 8 Form

II. Supplier's lab report along with supplier's mount

III. As-sprayed sample

IV. Documentation supporting any deviation(s)

V. Deviation(s) from applicable specification(s) must be legible and highlighted

VI. Purchase order

Limit 5 coatings per PO

Additional coatings will not be listed if not listed on the PO with the polishing procedure.

VII. Quotation

RFQ form must be completed in full. Missing information will delay processing.

Drawings must be submitted with RFQ. 

VIII. Previously accepted CCL lab report

 c. RR Resubmittal (Partial Package):

I. Completed Exhibit 8 Form

II. Supplier's lab report along with supplier's mount (if initial submission had metallographic failure)

III. As-sprayed sample (if initial submission had metallographic failure)

IV. Samples for all applicable capability test, such as erosion test, hardness test, etc. (if initial submission has capability failure)

V. Supplier's report for all applicable capability test (if initial submission has capability failure)

VI. Purchase order

Limit 5 coatings per PO

Additional coatings will not be listed if not listed on the PO with the polishing procedure.

IX. Quotation

RFQ form must be completed in full. Missing information will delay processing.

X. Previously  Metcut CCL issued Exhibit 7

 d. Failure of RR Resubmittal (Full Package):

Supplier must submit a Full Package like the Initial RR, see 1(a).

 2. What do I need for procedure review?

a. A copy of new or revised procedure. New procedure or one with major changes will be considered MAJOR review, others will be considered Minor review. 

b. New procedures should include completed Exhibit 4 checklist(s)

c. Revised procedures shall be signed, contain a detailed revision history and have all changes highlighted in the body of the procedure.

3. What is the standard turnaround time for RR submission and procedure review?

50 days for initial submission, 30 days for 2nd submission

50 days for major review, 30 days for minor review

4. Can my submission be expedited?

5. Can I check the status of my submission(s)?

Yes. Please contact CCL at ccl@metcut.com

Suppliers shall request RFQ prior to sending package to CCL. RFQ shall list all applicable specifications, including coating / powder classes and revisions, provide prior ACCEPTED RR date and report number. If deviation(s) are sought in RR certification, provide a copy of deviation(s) with applicable section(s), note(s) highlighted for accurate pricing, faster review and quicker turnaround. These steps will ensure that the coating is ready to be processed on Day 1 it arrives at CCL’s door. Suppliers are encouraged to limit no more than five coatings per RFQ. No submission limitations per PO for procedure review.
